'Reincarnatead' baby in the hospital scene

That baby that says "Whoo, I did not think I would be reincarnated this quickly, whoo"-is that supposed to be a nod at someone well-known?

It's 80's American movie racism, he's supposed to be Indian.

reply

Since many Indians are Hindu, and believe in reincarnation, is this really racism? Any more than depicting an Irish Catholic going to heaven?

reply

Yeah, it is kind of racist. Either reincarnation is real or it isn't. Their belief isn't that Hindi people are reincarnated; they believe it is what happens to humans when they die. The movie isn't proposing that reincarnation is real, because no other baby seems to recognize it, so it is more mocking their belief.

reply

So for it to not be racist, all the babies would have to react as if they were just reincarnated?

reply

Yeah..that's what he's saying...about a comedy that centers on the imagined internal monologues of infants.

reply

Yeah, it is kind of racist.

No it isn't. What next? The scene where they show the baby girl screaming like a lunatic is sexist because they are insinuating that females are over dramatic?

When will this over the top PC horseshyt stop for the love of Pete?!
