Majo means witch, so it's "witches delivery service", not Kiki's as in the english title. apparently the concept of a witch was to controversial to have in the title. all before Harry potter times of course.
"Takkyûbin" is parcel delivery, 'no' means belonging to as in it is the witches delivery service.

Tombo is a play on or a different spelling of Tonbo which is the Japanese word for Dragonfly. He's obsessed with flying etc.

The bakery is called gutiokipanja means rock paper bread shop, a play on rock paper scissors. panja means shop, pan is the word japanese use for bread (from the french).
