Scariest horror movie of all time

Who's with me?

The dreadful atmosphere is impressive and the Zelda scenes are pure nightmare fuel, but I wouldn't say this is the scariest movie of all time.

.

I am not sure I could say "the MOST" but it sure was a Hell of a movie. I grew up watching it and even today it scares me every time I watch it! The story is amazing!

Not even close. Scary book, though

Indeed - The hikes to the Mic Mac burial ground through Little God Swamp was terrifying in the book!

Well, it's the only movie that has ever managed to give me chills and it still does, so yes :)

Funny story. I was 9 when Pet Sematary came out, and I went to see it in the theater with my parents. Oddly enough, Pascow's character was the only part of the movie that scared me then. So much so that I had nightmares about him. It was only when I watched it again years later that I realized I had been scared of the good guy the whole time!

It is one of my most favorite horror movies of all time, and got to see this movie with my late mother and late grandmother too. The scariest parts for me, really was the thrill of Gage and his psychological games before killing and maiming.

reply

Yeah Gage turning into Chucky and boasting that he ‘played with mummy’ was genuinely chilling. It’s somewhat diffused by the unconvincing ‘fight’ he has with his dad.

The most disturbing thing about the story is that an innocent family is slowly lowered into the meat grinder, cat first, but the young daughter survives. The poor thing will be traumatised forever, knowing her family brutally murdered each other.

King is a sick fucker.

I'm just going to say they don't make horror movies like they use to. One of my fave classics.
