I'm from Washington State, USA, and I grew up hearing Weird Al from my older brother, and laughing at it before I even understood most of his jokes.

Canada! I'm only 13, but I've been listening to Weird Al since I was 5!

reply

Germany. Weird Al is almost unknown over here, apart from this movie, and this is about everything I know too. I heard a few songs, and they were extremely good, but this movie totally rocked, even in the German translation. But you should have some knowledge of American culture, especially TV and movies of the 80ies...

reply

CANADA EH, Weird Al is the best but he negver comes to Canada for concerts which sucks but Ive seen him the states a few times

reply

FABulous Las Vegas, Nevada!

And I'm just about Al's age... He's been my weird hero for years. To have ALL the fun he does... And make all that money just for being BIZARRE! Love it!

Greece here, been a fan of Al's since the late 80s (I believe my first view of him was parodying Michael Jackson in "Fat"). The way his jokes appeal to people in any age, and in any place in the world is what makes him brilliant. Plus he made glasses-and-frizzy hair look cool back in the day (trust me, I know better ;) )

Fav Weird moments: Spy Hard, Like a Surgeon, Amish Paradise and the cameos in "Naked Gun" movies.

KEEP ON ROCKING AL - AND PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE WE NEED A EUROPEAN TOUR SOON!! :)

Ðîññèÿ çäåñü! I mean, Russia here! I'm the biggest and the only fan of Al here probably, but I don't complain. :) In here, I actually do the same - parody songs, but based on Russian pop scene and they are all in Russian. (Hawaiian shirts an accordion included, though!) I saw people form Nowray, Iceland and Finland here. Cool! But does that mean that Scandinavians have more penchant for Al than others?:)
Cool to have you all here, and don't forget to visit www.weirdalforum.com, the coolest place for an Al fan to be in! Cheers folks!

I'm a fifteen-year-old fan from Northern Virginia here in the US. I italisize "Northern" because, though it's technically part of the rest of VA, it really feels like a totally different state. Anyways, I've been a fan of Al's since probably before I even could pronounce his name. I used to watch the "Weird Al" Show when it was on, and I own every single one of his official CDs (not the compilation albums).

So... anyone else excited about VH1 at 8:00 tonight?

There will come a day when I will portray a superhero...

Sweden here. Do you realize if we could just get someone from Denmark, we could have our own little club up here in the cold, cold north? (Yes, Russia can join too, if you'd like to..)

Alla som förstår det här är inbjudna till mitt hus den fjärde april 2007 för en Weird Al-konvention! Jippie!!

St. Louis, Missouri, US.

Most people around here have heard of him and think he's kind of funny, but aren't really fans. I'm the biggest fan I know, except maybe my cousin Logan.

im just about to buy uhf with my gift card and i will have just barely enough (seriously i'll have $0.21 left on my gift card)

reply

its been ages since anyone has written on here, so chances are no one will read this, but i wanted to be the first person to say they come from australia. Al was on tour here a couple of weeks ago and it was awsome! Although i was in the second last row and kept getting blinded by the lights, i think its safe to say i had more fun than half the audience, everyone was so quiet! i was screaming and singing along to every song!

Utah, USA here!

Oh, let's see... the first Weird Al song I remember hearing as a kid was Dare To Be Stupid. I was in grade school at the time, and I wasn't really sure what to think about it. But then years later I started listening to Dr. Demento on the radio, and that's when I was actually introduced to Al as an artist. Been a fan ever since.

I am also from Utah and I remember listening to the Dare To Be Stupid album when I was a little kid because my older brother bought it.

Another Utahn here. I first heard Al's "Ricky" on KRSP in SLC (don't exactly remember what number it occupied on the dial) in 1981. As soon as I heard that crazy "Ricky" song, I was hooked. I waited with a tape recorder for them to play it again, and "Ricky" was the first-ever song on the first-ever tape of radio music I made (and I still have that tape, too). I am now, and always have been, a Close Personal Friend of Al.

Also from Utah, USA. I grew up in Oregon listening to Weird Al in the 80's. I remember when my brother brought home Even Worse. That was the beginning of my infatuation with Al's music.

I bought UHF at Walmart for $5 on DVD sometime around 2007. Just dug it out and watched it again, with all the awesome features. I've been to 2 Weird Al concerts, both at county fairs, and I own all his music.
