Is this a good movie?

I've seen it twice. Once as a kid and once as an adult (21 maybe?) I am trying to convince my wife to watch it. She likes Weird Al songs, but is reluctant regarding the movie. I can't honestly recommend it to her, because despite having watched it twice, I don't really know if it is a "good" movie or not. I know I laughed. I also know it is really low budget. It might be one of those movies you had to watch young to appreciate later.

I'm 20 and watched it for the first time on netflix - it's hilarious with original visual gags and parodies that just cannot be matched. Intentionally cheesy and over-the-top, it is a genuinely inventive visual comedy. It's brilliant. I don't think it'd only be enjoyable for nostalgic viewing.
