The DVD releases are very very old. They were released in 2000 and I think there might have only been a single pressing.
Even then, I think it was just a "best of" set.

I saw Chris Elliott on Jimmy Kimmel's show last night. Elliott said he had recorded commentaries for the Season 1 episodes, but there were still some legal holdups to releasing the DVD.
shareMan, I'm sorry I missed him on Kimmel, I stopped watching after they ditched the co-host thing, which was great. You used to be able to get the whole seasons on ebay, but I'm not sure anymore. In any event when (if) they finally do release the full seasons on DVD I'll be one of the first in line. I don't know why this show isn't more popular (maybe it is loved by many and I just don't know), it's one of the only things that makes me genuinely laugh out loud, and not just on first viewing or one of those semi laughs in respect for the quality of the comedy. Release the damn DVD's you bastards!!

I don't know anything about them...nor do I own a set.
Of course they are are copies that someone probably made from TV VHS recordings back in the day...but it is out there.
I have most episodes on VHS that I originally recorded back in 90/91.
The quality is hideous.
But I do enjoy watching them - especially with the 15 year old commercials.
And, I own the 2 actual Rhino Entertainment DVDs that were put out many years ago.

shareThey will probably still sell when they are released, but many fans have already bought the series, with very good quality I might add.
In the end, I don't think it will sell as well as it would have five years ago, when more people remembered the series, and there weren't so many good quality bootlegs out there.
They better put a ton of extras on this collection.
