Just watched the deleted scene "something about Johnny"

I recently watched the entire series and movie etc. after never seeing it before and I got the impression something was missing regarding Johnny. The deleted scene is very interesting. I'd love to know how that would have played out if they included that

That's my very favorite missing piece/cut scene! It shows us the deeply disturbing Horne family dynamics from a different angle and also takes it to a whole another level. I was so sad to see the actor who played Johnny not return for the 3rd season. A wholly underused character, IMO.

Shame he wasn't in Fire Walk with Me either, but I guess if they had included a scene with him it would have seemed weird not having Audrey or Ben around, so I guess they just thought it would make more sense to not show any of the Horne side of things.

I don't think the Hornes literally would have fit into the runtime of FWWM, but it is a shame they didn't continue with the Horne dysfunction as much in season 2...well a bit, since we found out (although it was never confirmed) that Donna was Ben's daughter and Audrey's half sister, but if we had had a timely season three, maybe we would have had the chance to see more of Johnny as well.

Also, I despise Sylvia (the way she treats her daughter, especially in that cut scene, is inexcusable)...and still I can see how she got to be that way. It's sort of shame that she, too, is such a non entity in the show and/or in her own family, although some of it is purposeful, I think, and meant to show the complete absence of positive role models and support in Audrey's life. Ben is running and neglecting the family however he wants. There are certainly parallels between the families Horne and Palmer, and it would have been awesome if that had been explored more.

Watching and re-watching the show over the years had me wondering about Johnny wearing the Indian headdress and where they were going with that.

With Frosts book on The Secret History of Twin Peaks and the native American references woven into the show throughout the seasons I have to believe there was a tie-in there somewhere.
