Several years ago I was shopping for a surround sound system. At the time surround sound was quite new. I went to a half a dozen stores and found that every one was showing Days of Thunder in the surround sound room. Watching the film last night for the first time in years, I realized what an ideal film this is for testing one's home theatre system. Especially the non-action scenes where the main characters are talking in public, but the audience can still pick up peripheral conversations on the back speakers.
