Harry doesn't make any sense!

When Cole and Harry meet at the race track so that Harry can set up the car so Cole doesn't have to change the way he drives, Harry does not make any sense...

Harry tells Cole to run 50 laps any way he likes, then 50 laps like I want you to, and says...
"If you give me an honest run i'll beat you"

So Cole runs 50 laps like he wants and then comes into pit, while his team are changing the tyres Harry tells him...

"When you were racing Indy cars, the tyres were twice as wide - and the car weighed half as much. Now it's the opposite. Now your car weighs twice as much and the tyres are half as wide (NOT TRUE!!!!!) You're burning them up. They melt and get greasy. You slip and slide and you're out of control. Let's go!"

WTF? The tyres are not half as wide?

The tires in Indy are bigger than the ones in NASCAR, not necessarily TWICE as wide. The cars in Indy also weigh much less, not necessarily half though. The comment is legitimate.

Also that stuff HArry said to him wasn't the advice on how to race the next 50 laps, he was kinda explaining the theory to him in laymans terms. No doubt he coached him through the next 50 laps over the team radio which we didn't see. I got the impression he probably went too fast during his own 50 laps and maybe accelerated and decelerated too much causing much wear and tear to the tyres.

The indy cars he is talking about is not the Indy Car/Champ/Cart that most people know of. He is talking about Sprints, World of Outlaws etc, the big roof winged dirt cars.

Just a quick reasoning to why his tires are getting torn up. How else can you explain it real quick to a driver?

He didnt mean that in a literal sense. He was exaggerating to get his point across quickly to a driver who didnt have the time, patience, or experience to understand what he meant without getting into a technical discussion of what he was talking about. "Ive got the experience, I know what I'm talking about. Trust me on this one."
Cole understood well enough.
