Is there a Special Edition DVD coming soon?

I wanna get the DVD, but I don't wanna waste my money if Paramount releases a Special Edition DVD.

Does anyone have any news on this? I'm in the same boat. I can't think why they wouldn't make a Special Edition DVD, they'd make a killing!

If you have a widescreen tv definately don't buy this version because it isn't enhanced, so its stretched even wider instead of extended taller as it should be with most 2.35:1 releases these days.

They played it on HBO-HD recently and it looked great!

Well, they did release a 2-disc Special Edition of Top Gun not too long ago, so I don't see why they couldn't do the same thing for this film. Paramount hasn't said anything though.

The crappy DVD currently out is good for nothing but a rental IMO.

I'd like to see a new master of it myself. The original 5.1 on it was damn good as it was back when it came out...but this movie could *REALLY* use a dts treatment
