I don't know if this has been asked before, but anyway as I'm English and therefore have never watched NASCAR and have watch the odd F1 race. I have a question.
Do the drivers delibrately hit other cars in an attempt to cause a spin or hit the wall like in days of thunder? If they did that in F1 (I know not much point as you would be out the race as well) or any dangerous driving the driver would be in serious trouble.
I am a very big NASCAR fan and have been watching it on television since 1991 and going to races since 1997. NO. The drivers do not hit each other like that on purpose. It was dramatized for the movie. The racing would be very dangerous if they drove like that. Occasionally, you get a driver get mad at another and he will intentionally hit or spin or crash another driver. But if it is deliberate, he will be penalized for it so it doesn't happen that often.
sharewhat about "rubbing"? does that happen often? just a light bump straight up the tail, not really to spin the driver out or cause damage/crash...just to intimidate.
