Emily Lloyd

According to the trivia, Lloyd was replaced with Winona Ryder after "Cher complained that the fair-haired Lloyd could not look like her daughter." Um, aren't Cher's mother and sister both blonde? It seems she, of all people, would know it's not implausible.

Yes, they're both blond now; but I doubt they were when they were Charlotte's age!

So is her real life son, Chaz....

Emily Lloyd always got replaced for one reason or another. Woody Allen replaced her with Juliette Lewis and re-shot all her scenes in "Husbands and Wives" as well.

I don't believe Emily Lloyd being fired was entirely Cher's doing. If you remember 1990,then you'll remember how HOT Winona Ryder was. The filmmakers probably wanted the very popular and desirable Winona starring in their movie rather than Emily. No offense to her, they probably just wanted to make the most money.

It looks like Emily Lloyd made them pay for their trangressions. (Staying with the religous theme of the Charlotte character.)

QUOTE:

The role of Charlotte initially went to Emily Lloyd, who went to receive $435,000 and 2.5% of the net profits from the film. When Cher complained that the fair-haired Lloyd could not look like her daughter, she was cast out of the film and replaced by Winona Ryder. Lloyd then sued Orion Pictures Corporation and Mermaid Productions, reaching a settlement on the second day of the trial, 30 July 1991.
