She almost drowns, yet she is supposedly a very good swimmer. Is it because she was drunk?
Or was there an undertow? I can't recall.

Tipsy and I believe she had rocks in her pockets that weighed her down.
shareShe was an outstanding swimmer; however she was drunk on wine, the water was freezing and she did have the rocks in her bathrobe pocket. Also, looks like she hits her head when she falls in.
shareYes, she was drunk, but she was also dressed in heavy winter clothes, probably wool and it was January so the water was cold. A lot to ask from an eight year-old.
