Anyone else think that Cher's performance in this film, along with the one in 'Mask', are the inspirations for Lorelai Gilmore in TV's Gilmore girls?

They were probably some of the inspirations for the character. I thought that too when I saw it.

Yay I'm not the only one who picked up on that.
Althought Lorelai is more responsible then Rachel.
She takes care of her kid much better.
