Did anyone else think that the actor who played Joe Poretti was hot??!!!

Ok, I just recently saw this movie with my Mom and it's a good one. It was hillarious in many parts, especially when Charlotte tries to be the perfect nun, but has impure thoughts of Joe. I loved those comments she made in her head. Freaking hillarious.

Anyways, does anyone on here think that Joe was good looking??!! I most definatly do.

He seems to have developed quite a fan base to be certain, even though he pretty dropped off the face of the movie map in 1991. He got tired of Hollywood and became a carpenter.

I thought he looked a lot like Matt Dillon. Good looking... not a very good actor though.

when your THAT good-looking and sexy, you don't have to be a good actor-
I thought he worked well with the material given him...

I LOVE him in Sixteen Candles.. Jake Ryan.. ::Swoon::

I second that! Even though I saw Mermaids before I finally popped in our Sixteen Candles DVD LOL.

No! I've seen it mentioned a lot on this board but I don't see it at all! He was mildly attractive but nothing special and a bit bland I thought!

reply

Well, DUH! He was cast for his looks.

His best work was in the film, Longtime Companion (also 1990)--even though he's but a small part of an ensemble cast. Check it out.

It's Jake Ryan from Sixteen Candles! Of course he is hot, I think up until I was in my 20s, I compared every guy to Jake Ryan or Mr. Darcy.

reply

Of course! He's classically beautiful and was a male model. That was about the extent of his talent though, as he didn't quite have the acting chops. Hence his short career.

I thought he looked a lot like Matt Dillon.

That was exactly what I thought too. And some resemblance With Dana Ashbrooke in his Twin Peaks time he has too.
