I find it kind of interesting that both Winona Ryder and Christina Ricci has had Johnny Depp as sort of a love interest in movies. Winona in "Edward Scissorhands" and Christina in "Sleepy Hollow". Concidering that Christina played Winona's much younger sister in "Mermaids". Just found it kind of interesting. What do you think?
When filming Mermaids, Winona was actually dating Johnny Depp at the time. And I've heard that Johnny visited the set often so I'm sure he met Christina Ricci when he was around there. And she was like, what, around 10 then? And then years later he is filming movies where the little girl he met filming Mermaids is actually his Love interest. that'd be pretty weird.
Johnny Depp and Christina Ricci are really close friends..i read that Johnny calls Christina every now and then to check up on her and stuff..its really sweet. And they both say that their like brother and sister.
Romeo:Has my heart loved till now? Forswear it,sight! For I never saw a true beauty till this night.
Hey!!!!!!!! I don't love Johnny Depp. Not anymore that is. Does the name River Phoenix ring any bells with any one? Sure he's cute and Finding Neverland wasn't a total loss, but that whole thing outside the Viper was just wrong. What if that had been any one of you?
River o'ded and I think he started convulsing or whatever outside the club and Johnny stuck his head out and liked did an oh well thing and went back inside and kinda left him there to die.
yeah but Johnny owned the club River was dying in front of. He had some responsiblity to atleast call the hospital or somebody to come help him. I mean come on. Isn't that just a LITTLE heartless? Wouldn't you call someone instead of turning your back? Even if you didn't know the person? Common decency. Oh I forgot. This is the age of take care of myself only.
river phoenix definitly was no loser, great actor, just a little *beep* up about the world who can blame him
and as far as i know, johnny depp used to be a druggie as well at this times, i mean it's no excuse for acting like this but and explination. he might have been stoned or high or something just tat night, and btw, the story about sayin "well" and going back is one i don't believe, just stupid gossip
The reason that these young actors screw up as young adults is simple: Their lifes were TOO EASY. They didn't have the STRUGGLES that normal children have.
Darwins theory holds up: The strong survive, and struggling builds strength.
I am pretty sure that a lot more normal children who had struggles succumb to drug and alcohol problems and screw up as adults. I went to high school with a lot of normal kids that had normal struggles and problems who ended up down River Phoenix's path. Young actors can just afford more and can go down faster. The higher you are the further you fall. But that doesn't mean there aren't a thousand other people already lining the ground.
I am sure Johnny Depp regrets that night deeply. But like other's have said he had probably seen that a hundred times both with River and others. And none of those times ended in death. Also there were many other people there who had already called 911 and were taking care of him. To him at the moment I would guess it seemed like drama more than anything else. Although it is pretty awful. And to answer your question no I wouldn't do that but I don't live that life style.
On topic, I think Johnny Depp gave an interview about Christina Ricci being like a sister when they were younger and it being odd that she was his love interest. He mentioned knowing her when she was doing Mermaids. I read it around the time Sleepy Hollow came out so my memory could be cloudy.
Yes River Phoenix died of an overdose outside of The Viper Room, however disliking Johnny Depp simply because he owned the club doesn't make sense to me-I don't believe that River ordered a drug concoction at the bar, nor do I think Depp shoved a needle in his arm either. I was more disappointed in Phoenix for preaching all about how organic and healthy his lifestyle was and how he was a vegetarian to keep himself healthy all the while violating his body with hard core drugs. Depp just happened to own the place. And to avoid something that could make anyone fall into the "what if it was you" label, just don;t injest a drug cocktail and you should be fine.
I don't remember Mr. Depp even being present that night.. It's like blaming someone for owning the car they weren't driving or even in when someone got run over.
This is completely true. I was actually an extra in this film, and probably the biggest thrill for me was the fact that I got to meet Johnny Depp. He did indeed visit Winona on the set at least once on one of the days they filmed at the Urban Jesuit Center in Boston.
I just wanna know what happened to Cher's face and how could that punk kid be the grown up adorable (and great actress) Christina Ricci?) Jeez! No wonder I like 'action' movies.
When I saw the title of your thread, I thought it was going to be asking if Depp should have played the role played by Michael Schoeffling. As for the actual subject of your thread, look at the release dates between EDWARD SCISSORHANDS and SLEEPY HOLLOW...that's quite a few years.
