I thought The Dane + Mink were father + son, NOT gay!

A lot of folks have posted on here suspicions of their sexual orientation, which kinda threw me off. I suspected Bernie & Mink, but not Dane. Am I right or wrong?

I think the movie makes it pretty clear (and I'm paraphrasing here):

"Mink is Eddie Dane's boy"

"There is always that wild card when love is involved"

"You're a fickle boy Mink. If The Dane hears you've got another "amigo", well, let's just say I don't peg him for the understanding type".

"I don't want any Commies in my car. No Christians, either."

LOL. No, Eddie Dane and Mink were lovers.

Unless Alpert's covered in bacon grease, I don't think Hugo can track anything.

Eh, it's less of a triangle and more Bernie manipulating Mink. Mink was definitely Eddie Dane's boy. But Mink wanted to be amigos with Bernie. And Bernie didn't care, just used Mink to get the inside info on the fights, and then disposed of him when he needed a stiff in the woods.
