One thing that bothered me about Rocky 5.

Now don't get me wrong, I loved Rocky 5, it is the weak point in the series, but great nonetheless, but one little thing that bothered me was the fact that they don't ever mention Apollo Creed properly and the only time they do they just talk about him as an "opponent" but seem to forget that he helped get Rocky off his feet in Rocky 3 and became even closer in 4. It's nice hearing him mention Mickey but it's like he's now mourning over Mickey's death when he had just lost Apollo.

You know, you are without a doubt right... I never really thought of that. They should have talked more about him especially since this was suppose to be the last of the series. But like you pointed out, they did talk more about Mickey. To me, it's more fitting than Apollo being talked about more, but yes you are right and it would have been awesome if they brought Carl back for a flashback or atleast talked about him more. Either way I love Rocky V & it's one of my favorites of the series. Have you seen the director's cut?

As a matter of fact I just caught it yesterday, it was a pretty cool experience, like watching a new movie. I loved the handshake between Rocky and Tommy among other added scenes. The only thing they left out that they should have not is the "Touch me and I'll sue" bit after the Rocky-Tommy battle.

Thats awesome man. Yeah, it is like watching a different movie. I wish they wouldve went with that cut

Maybe there could have been a scene where Rocky visit's Apollo's grave or has a visit with Apollo's widow?

I wonder who was more powerful between Apollo and Tommy? Powerful just means strength, how hard you can hit does not mean you would win a boxing match.

For example Clubber Lang's punches were more damaging than Apollo's but my money would be on Apollo for the same reason my money would be on Mohammid Ali over Mike Tyson had they both fought and been in their respective primes. If Creed made the mistake of going "toe to toe" and slugging it out Lang would win but if Creed danced around him and wore him out gradually which he could easily do with his superior skill then Creed would win.

So what I am wondering is who had more punching force between Tommy and Creed? Tommy was very buffed looked more like a football player than a boxer to me. I do think Tommy was less powerful than Lang though. To be fair I am comparing him to a PRIME Creed. I do not at all think he could have won a boxing match with Creed. In fact I even think Rocky 4 Creed would have won had they stuck Tommy into the Ring instead of Drago. Yes he got destroyed in 2 rounds by Drago but I think Tommy would have gotten owned just as badly by Drago too if not even worse.

To the original poster, there's a reason why Apollo was pretty much vacant in this movie. According to Stallone, he planned to use footage of Apollo in this movie but actor Carl Weathers demanded too high a salary.
