I always wondered that. He did say about Rocky "the man fought wars in the ring!", probably indirectly acknowledging Creed as one of many tough battles Balboa endured...
I'm curious, do you think the George Washington Duke character knew who Apollo was? If still alive do you think he would've tried to manipulate Creed into fighting again?
creed might have blew him off pretty quick if he didn't want no part of anything the duke offered but if he did then he might go along with it but i doubt it.
the whole situation i can't really picture. but no i really think apollo would have declined any offers. he only come out to fight drago for reasons stated.

Excuse me???? Early in the movie he had the nerve to say about Rocky: I AM BETTER THAN HE EVER WAS. Better than NOW fine, you are younger and he just had his brain damaged by Ivan Drago but EVER WAS??? Rocky was until Drago the most difficult opponent Apollo Creed ever had, won the world heavyweight title TWICE and to boot was the only person EVER to beat Ivan Drago who in the ultimate rocky guide was said to have had many more fights and the only thing keeping him from a perfect record was his only loss to Rocky.
No way Duke even in his prime could have put accomplishments like that under his belt then he loses to Tommy Gunn and Tommy beat him with no more than moderate difficult, Better then he EVER WAS my A$$.
Prime Rocky could beat duke with one of his hands while using the other to wack off to porn.
