1991?!

So I was randomly browsing around IMDb when I thought of this show from my childhood and looked it up. I remember this show from the mid-late 90's so imagine my surprise when I saw it originally aired in 1991! I didn't realize the show wasn't new when I first watched it on Fox Kids. Anybody else experience this with either this show or another show?

(BTW, I'm not referring to the Other Dimension thing. I remember that coming out after I watched the original series. I didn't like it).

reply

I think I watched it around the same time as you. I don't think I gave it much thought, though, so I'm not that surprised about its age (though I thought it was newer).

In other news, GOOD GOD. I had forgotten about this show! The nostalgia. @_@

"Hey did you just take his wallet? He just took that guy's wallet!I think he took his wallet."

I first saw it on Fox Kids too and it still doesn't feel that old to me. Probably the only show from when I was little that I like even more now.

reply

I saw it and taped the first few episodes way back then. For years after I kept singing the Foreverware chant.

I always wondered one thing about Forever: Marshall stopped Betty Wilson, but what about the other ladies???

I don't know if they were using the forever ware on themselves or were just kind of caught up in the cult status of the product. It's like people that dress up like Star Wars and Star Trek characters at conventions. I know they're not REALLY humans in space or space creatures... but THEY seem to think they are. :P

Maybe they were saving it for season 2.

reply

Well one of the Foreverware ladies makes a cameo in Dash X's debut episode... I really wish the show lasted longer.

Yes, all the ladies at the party were using the Foreverware on themselves. Remember the party? Each lady stood up and said how long they had been a Foreverware "mom"? or something like? The woman from '62 was were an outfit made popular by Jackie Kennedy. The woman from '68 with the long blond hair was dressed like a 'Go-Go Dancer'.

Marshall only wanted to keep his mom from becoming a "Foreverware Lady" so when the twins came forward asking for help, he saw his moment. He helped the twins and they helped him by giving back the contract Marshall's mom.

In some of the later episodes you can see some of the Foreverware Ladies, like the 'Go-Go Dancer mom and her daughter, who looks just like her, at the bank when the ghost wanted to rob it.

If you ever saw the episode "The Hole in the Head Gang" Swanson was seen in the bank with her daughter, starting a saving's account so she could buy her doll a Foreverware container.

Porn Stars have feelings too.

I know, Dash X pushed Simon and made the girl break her piggy bank. The fake Mr Radford also appeared appeared as the bank teller. That was so random

Remember the line? Marshall starts to say "Hey aren't you...?" "Or hey isn't he...?" and then the scene changes.

reply

They're still in the town and still using the Foreverware.

I had known it was on Disney channel before it was on Fox Kids, and I remembered that at the time, because I was 13 by the time it made it to Fox Kids. I was older before I learned about it being on NBC, but I definitely remember being 8 years old the first time I watched Eerie, Indiana. I turned 8 in late 1991, so either I watched on NBC after my 8th birthday, or it was already on Disney before my 9th birthday, and it's been 20 years so I really can't remember which. But I had associated it with Disney for a long time.

we had it on channel 4 (im in the uk) in 1991..either tuesdays or wednesdays.

I watched this show when I was in junior high, and I started high high school in 1992 (graduated high school in 96) so i know for sure i watched it in 1991/1992.

I remember watching it in 1991. Though I could have sworn this show lasted a few years, I was surprised it only ran one season. I was sure this ran into 1993 or 1994.

I was just thinking the same thing. I think we got it later here in the UK because it does not feel like it was that long ago!
