Memories

I think it's hilarious and great that people still remember this show. If a DVD were releases I would buy it just for the laughs. It is kind of the last of the awful after school specials. What I find the funniest in retrospect is how COOL this show was to me. I swore by it. Granted I wasn't even fifteen because if I had been I would have had better sense. I don't think people in HS watch Nickelodeon it must have been for the younger crowd. Do you guys think a show like this could work today?

I remember watching this show when I was in first grade. And I thought all the cool teens lived by it, too. I wish it were on DVD just 'cause my memory of it isn't clear... I bet when I see it, I'm going to tell myself, "Oh gosh, why did I watch this at that age?!"

reply

I was actually 14 when I watched this and I thought it was good show. But I think some of the actors were older than their age. I remember I was in the 8th grade when I watched it.

Hey I was born in 1974, and at the time this show was on, I was WAY too old to watch it. I knew better, but I just didn't care. A teenage soap opera set in junior high. Plus, I watched wishing that junior high had been that easy. I was the picked on kid, I had an older brother and a younger sister. Typical middle child syndrome. I sure as heck wished I was the preppy kid or the school jock. Plus, Laura Harris was just too cute. And, today she is absolutely stunning. Saw her on "The Faculty" and "24" and she is gorgeous. And, WOW, who knew little Billy played by shortstuff Ryan Reynolds would go on to be a big star... with Waiting and The Amityville Horror, and go on to get engaged to Alanis Morrisette. Props to Billy!!!

Why would anyone want to be a jock? I didn't have that many friends in High school either. I can't conform with people who smoke, drink alcohol, or are just plain immature. The show was set in High school. By the way, how old is your sister. Is she available?

reply

Born in 1975 and thought I'd written this post! Yeah, I was probably way to old to watch the show too, but I did, faithfully...knowing it was total cheese.

And wow, I didn't know Ryan was engaged to Alanis! Good for him. =)

Same thing here! Born in '75! My best friends used to rip on me for watching this! hahaha.. but I thought it was a trip.. and yeah, Ashley was da bomb... The biggest things I remember are "matt's drinking problem" and "Billy, Dylan, and the band." Billy was a year or two younger I think. Can't believe it. Some of these people haven't done anything since, but many of them have starred in the same shows: Outer Limits; Poltergeist:The Legacy, etc.. kinda of odd.. makes you wonder if they still hung out and went out for the same shows.. I'd definitely by it on DVD just for the laughs.. my wife would probably faint though.. huss!

reply

Nobody in my school even knew about the show. I guess not everyone could afford cable in the 90s.

reply

LOL, if she did faint, she'd be totally into it when she got revived. =)

This show was a like a car wreck. You couldn't help but to watch it. Goodness I think I was a Sophmore in High School when I was watching this. It was interesting, but I was to imbarrassed to let anyone know I watched it, because it was so corny. One day I went over to my friends house who was a junior, and I caught her watching it in her room. We agreed that this show was our little secret. And we watched it every Sunday. Yet in school we always made fun of the other girls who did watch it. Maybe it might work today. But it wouldn't last as long as it did years ago.

I think the ppl who kept watching this show were the ones who'd been there from the networks early days.

Today??? No, I don't think it would work.

I watched. I was an older teen. We used to watch and laugh about how awful it was... it was the only thing on Sunday's after church.
