Was there a 'Fifteen' series in the mid-80s?

This would've been prior to 1987. I think it came on Canadian TV right after the "Family Ties" slot. A friend of mine had a role in it, but then left Canada and went back to America, and I've been trying to find out more about this old show.

The only thing that I can think of is probably "Degrassi Junior High".

No, this wasn't Degrassi. This was similar to "Saved By The Bell" in that it was studio-based--mostly set in the commons area of a school, but it was a mixture of comedy and drama. My friend played "Johnny," the guy who ran the school soda fountain and listened to everyone's problems like a bartender.

That sounds like the orginal KIDS INC. with Moosie Drier as the guy behind the counter.

Fifteen was on in the mid to late 80s. I remember watching and taping it on Nickelodeon around the time I was taping The Monkees. I guess they tried to do what other shows did by reissuing it as another show. I know they keep doing Degrassi over with other players. I liked the very original when it was Degrassi Junior High! Fifteen, though, I always remember that one commercial teaser for an ep: "Why does she have to get better in order to die!"

"Hillside" (aka "Fifteen" in the US) started in 1990...it took me years to get them -- IMDb -- to change the year and name.

I TOTALLY remember this show being called 'fifteen' and airing on Nickelodeon!! It was total cheese, but I loved it!!! And Ryan Reynolds was a cutie. I had a crush on him then, and I'm glad to see that he's still an actor and doing pretty well!!!

When and where was it called "Hillside?" I always saw it as "Fifteen" on Nickelodeon as well. Just wondering. Thanks.

Hillside is the name of the show when it was shown in Canada. That is why there is a listing for Hillside and I think until recently one was made for Fifteen, even though they are the same show, granted with different edited versions I'm sure. When it was broadcast on Nick, the named was changed to Fifteen for whatever reason.

forgotten...and don't you forget it

I think now I know the TV series, but I believe there was something similiar on TV in the late '90s to early 2Ks on YTV here in Canada...just don't remember the name of it.

From the book "The Complete Directory To Prime Time TV Shows":

"According to Nick, 'Fifteen' was not related to a series of the same name that was briefly syndicated in 1987, even though the name of the high school ("Hillside High") was the same in both shows".
