The Fictional location

In the famous Charles Addams cartoon where they pour a cauldron of liquid on Christmas carolers, there is snow on the ground and icicles on the house. So in the Charles Addams cartoons, the house should be in a climate which gets cold in the winter.

The opening scene in this film is based on that cartoon. But I didn't notice any snow or icicles. Thus it is possible that this version might be set in warmer climate where it never snows.

Unless the Addamses move into a different house which looks a lot like the one in this movie, Addams Family Values should have the same fictional location. But I don't remember indications of the location in that movie.

Are there any clues from vegetation or animal life, or the type of weather or scenery, or anything else that could narrow down the location in any way?

Here is a link to a question about the location of the Addams family in different productions, which may be totally different in different productions.

The answer to this question https://moviechat.org/tt0101272/The-Addams-Family/58c76c5f93cef4080d75cd72/City-in-the-backgroundclaimsthat an Iowa flag is seen in a courthouse scene.

The flag of Iowa has a very distinctive design among US state flags. If a real US state flag was used in the courthouse scene it should have been almost impossible for any other state flag to hang in such away that it would be mistaken for that of Iowa.

I've always maintained that they lived somewhere in New England, such as Maine or Massachusetts.
