Song sung by Hallie and Lillian?

Hi everyone,

I'm trying to find the song that Hallie and her grandma Lillian sang in the movie when they were singing at the piano, performing for a Christmas party. I think it was called "Baby, it's cold outside." I love their version and I wondered if any of you know where I could get a copy of the song? Thanks.

That song is called "Baby, It's Cold Outside" - there have been a couple of poular versions of the song released. Johnny Mercer, Bing Crosby, and Louis Armstrong and Ella Fitzgerald all released versions. The song was also in the 1949 movie Neptune's Daughter. It's a pretty famous song - it should be easy to find a version.

I'm not sure where you can find the exact version that's in the film, but I have a few suggestions...

On my Brian Setzer Orchestra Christmas album, he does a very cool Rock-a-billy version of this song.

Also, my favorite version of all time is sung by Steve Tyrell on his "Standard Time" album. Very jazzy, and very sweet.

The world belongs to the meat eaters, Miss Clara, and if you have to take it raw, take it raw.

Yeah, it is a good song. One of my favorites at Christmas time. The version in Elf is quite good. However, it's always struck me as a song to be sung by a romantic couple. A few years ago I had a cassette tape with Dean Martin and some other guy singing it to each other. A little strange, but not terribly high on the creep meter. When my wife and I watched this movie for the first time the other night, it was quite a bit stranger with an older woman and a little girl singing it to each other. Way creepy.

Still, it's a good song, but better when it's done as a romantic duet.

Made even creepier by the incestuous undertones.
