Van Winkle not dead yet!

Firstly, just wanted to say you people have really cracked me up with all your posts - very funny indeed. But according to his flashy website, Vanilla Ice reckons he's still going strong. You can even listen to samples of his new sound (rap-core......read Limp Bizkit rip off) and read about his party and drug fuelled lifestyle (where he compares himself to Kurt Cobain, Jim Morrison and Elvis!) Despite this guys lack of talent, he still manages to bring much joy into our lives :)

I hate people who say Vanilla Ice is ripping off Limp Bizkit. It's not Limp Bizkit where the first band ever to say "Hey, you play some metal... and I'm gonna rap!".

Ice-Man has said that his stuff might be in the spirit of bands like Slipknot, Korn and Limp Bizkit so people can understand better what his new songs are like.

And for the record:
Korn, Limp Bizkit and Slipknot are all faggy posers and Vanilla Ice is better then them in making music and probably could kick all of their asses single handed in a fight.

riiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiight. they all suck equally. I read his little statement about bieng a "puppet" ... bull sh*t. He did what he wanted to do and he paid the price just like Milli Vanilli, Hammer, and all the others. His career is all but dead. If you really find value in his music, fine, but don't try and pretend that he is some musical pioneer, he doesn't even sing or play an instrument. His career nothing more than a trivia question at a crappy bar.

reply

I never said he was a musical pioneer only because I'm a fan of his music...

But he does sing, and he basicly makes the beats to his songs and everything so... what are you talking about?

he made what beat? and he sings what song? what are you talking about ... ripping off samples is not writing a beat. don't get mad at me because you have no taste.

reply

What? So he has used samples that have been used before and did two cover songs, that dosen't change the fact that he has made hundreds of other songs that are original. And rapping is a form of singing, granted, it's nothing like Frank Sinatra, but it is singing none the less.

It's not my fault that you let opinions get in the way of saying what is catogorized as music.

Rapping is a form of singing... only because you don't like it doesn't make it any less true.

Buuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuut because you say it is then it must be so?

I don't like rap, not at all. I find it to be a terrible form of music. But that doesn't change the fact that it is MUSIC! And Rap is a form of singing. Not a very good one, but it's true. It's been known as music and singing since before it got popular.
