I am curious if anyone has looked into the calculations that were shown in the gentleman's folder as he talked to Gold about the two stars. When he said, "what is concealed in the name of Ester, do you see...do you see it? Mamet focus on a calculation that was written in pen next to the text.

I feel that Mamet was trying to show something more than Gold not being or knowing of his culture, but actually trying to show us, the viewer something mystical.

he speaks of the difference in the stars and how the pentagram is of the five sense, the five elements of the chinese paradigm, five fingers and the earth, that it cannot be deconstructed, but the star of david (or what word he said) is a rendention of heaven and Earth when pulled apart. I dont think this is coincidental and somehow is a key into the film..more than less about Gold not knowing WHO he is, if not a Jewish man.
