A Royal Dimple

This 'didactic' version of Citizen Kane (in some respects) makes me think about the general human intrigue associated with the fineries of lavish shelters such as a royal palace.

John Goodman is perfect, and I always like playing 'Culture Mad-Libs' with this movie.

KING: I'm having an affair with King Charles' wife.
VIZIER: The Lady Dunsmore?
KING: Yes, I find her figure to be almost perfect!
VIZIER: A royal scandal is not what we need right now, your majesty.
KING: I'm negotiating a harmony-marriage between my daughter and King Charles's on.
VIZIER: Exactly, so you need not 'make waves' with an adultery-scandal.
KING: I can't stay away from Lady Dunsmore.
VIZIER: Well, she is very attractive.
KING: I should conceive of her as my daughter's future mother-in-law!
VIZIER: Try taking brisk walks in the morning to clear your head.
KING: I tried that, but I can't get Lady Dunsmore out of my head.
VIZIER: You need to listen to your heart.
KING: I know what I'll do; I'll plan a lavish royal BBQ.
VIZIER: Yes, a picnic-like event will air out cobwebs nicely!
KING: We'll serve Pina Coladas at this (summer) BBQ.
VIZIER: Sounds very...American!
