John Hurt made a delicious villain in this movie, but I can't figure out what type of English accent he was using. It may have been based on region or class, but it was a strange sort of accent, where a word like "house" came out sounding like "hice."

He was a great villain! I love that scene where he yells at Miranda "COME BACK HERE, YOU LITTLE STRUMPET!" and then starts laughing immediately after, saying "Oh, I rather enjoyed that." I don't know why, but it always struck me that the "I rather enjoyed that" was the actor speaking, not the character.
