This movie was much better than a 4.7. Good acting by O'Toole and Goodman and a quite hilarious plot.

I recently bought it because I still remembered that I found it very funny when I saw it six or seven years ago.
Now I watched it again and it didn't disappoint me at all, very funny film, great actors, good story.
So I look it up on imdb and what must I see?
4.8 is its rating?

Before time began, there was.... the cube.
I was shocked to see this rating. For some reason, this movie passed me by back in the day and only watched it for the first time a couple weeks ago. I liked it quite a bit and wasn't for any nostalgic reasons. It's fun and Goodman's and O' Toole's performances are very enthusiastic. It probably wouldn't be as good with other stars, but it's a fun little movie that needs some more attention.

I agree. This movie is vastly underrated by the IMDB community.
It's easily a 6/10 movie. It's not going to knock your socks off, but it is definitely entertaining and worth the 90 something minutes you'll spend watching it, unlike most 4/10 rated movies.
Yes this movie deserves better! It's 5.0 now though so hopefully it will continue to go higher.

To each their own, that's what the whole rating system is all about! I think it deserves much higher than 4.7 but obviously most people disagree with me, hence the average rating of 4.7. I honestly was surprised though, I assumed most people liked this movie.
shareAh! I see it's at 5.1 now. That's not much higher but it's amazing how different it feels that this is above 5 instead of below 5, like it has a passing grade now haha.
