Why no special edition blu-ray?

If any movie deserves a special edition release, it's this one. I can't believe a barebones release is all we have after all these years. I would love a special edition blu-ray with both the U.S. cut and international cut with behind the scenes footage, interviews with cast and crew, and at least one commentary. If Peter Jackson feels above it, they could at least get one with Timothy Balme and Diana Penalver. I would think there'd be a huge demand for it, and with Shout Factory releasing so many SE blu-rays of old horror movies they should really try and get working on Dead Alive.

The only reason I haven't been able to watch this is because I can't find it for a reasonable price on Blu Ray. It definitely needs a re-release.

Don't bother with the BR, bad transfer and expensive. The US unrated DVD is the same version but now out of print too. You can get the 100% uncut version on Ebay but I think you might need a region free DVD player to play it. You can also download things for free on the internet...
