i always presumed because he wasn't bitten or scratched or anything like that, I mean all he did was eat a bit of bloddy goop, Lionel & Paquita were covered head to toe in blood and guts some of that has goto of gone down there throat and they didn't turn either

RIP Lewis Rowe. Had two of the best lines in the whole film.. "What we need's another war!" and "What?! NO PUDDING?!"
