Why 'Benjamin'?

Martin's son is named Benjamin in the movie, same as the actor's name in real life. Is there is reason?

It seemed like I was hearing "Ben" and "Benjamin" a lot; so maybe it's frequency in the script was regarded as increased risk someone will use his real name. And it was Meadow Sisto's first movie, maybe they saw a compounded risk.

Or is there some other thespian psychology principal involved, like for chemistry or something?

I don't know about it but Martin Short has the same first name as well

So if they were concerned about someone using the wrong first name, that would point to Mary Kay Place, as she would be calling him by his first name, rather then "Dad" or "Boss", like Meadow and Kurt.
