I am surprised by the relatively low rating as I find it entertaining even after a few viewings. Without one of the best actors of all time - Kurt Russell as Captain Ron - the movie would fall on its face, but with him, it is funny and entertaining.

sharei hadn't seen this since i was a kid and i didn't expect much, but it's actually alot of fun, and russel and short has great chemistry togheter, i don't think i've ever seen the broads anywhere else though, the mother and daughter looked more like sisters sometimes, i guess that's a common sight in entertainment productions. notice russel wears an eyepatch just like in the "escape from..." movies. i think they could have done without the twists towards the end.

went ahead and take away everything for wich he strive,

It's a classic in my opinion, too. One of the best comedies of that era, along with, and in the vein of, films like Down and Out in Beverly Hills.

i remembering renting this on a whim when it came out on VHS and it was great. certainly is still funny after all of these years

It was forgotten about when it came out,due to being an independent film despite Russell and Short. But it was really not that bad and it is a good film and time capsule for the period.
