Is this based on a book/novel?

I absolutely love this movie. A few years ago however I had someone tell me that this movie was based on a book and this person claimed to have a copy. I've looked online a couple of times to see if I could find a copy, and couldn't find one. Could someone here shed some light and let me know if this film really is based on a book? Thanks

Read the Trivia section; the story was written by Aaron Sorkin as a play and based on his sister’s experience as an attorney on a case at Guantanamo.

You absolutely love the movie and have found your way to the IMDB message board.

But have not read the trivia section.

Perhaps the OP just wants to reach out for some sense of community.
