Of bringing those guys from Andrews Air Force Base to the trial if they didn’t remember if the flight landed? Was it just to rattle Jessup?

Yes, to rattle him by making him believe that they were going to testify that they remembered the earlier flight.

Yeah that’s what I figured. It might make him think that he has nothing to lose by admitting what he did which by Kaffee’s theory is what Jessup wanted to do (he was tired of hiding and was insulted by the fact that he had to hide).

That was one of the errors in the film. A witness who is about to testify is not allowed in the courtroom until after the trial. Kaffee could have mentioned them by name and said they would testify, but I suppose it was more dramatic to have them in the room.
