Why did the hotel concierge take a dislike to Kevin?

On occasions it almost seemed as if Mr. Hector had a personal grudge against Kevin McCallister.

Was it because Tim Curry's character preferred sticking to routine and wasn't sure how to properly handle the unusual situation of a kid checking in all by himself?

Perhaps he's an unknown relative of the family. All the other family members seem to have a strong dislike of Kevin.

It's normal to be suspicious of a single, unsupervised 10-year-old kid with a very loaded credit card, checking into a very posh hotel with a somewhat contrived story about his dad. How many 10-year-olds do you see checking in alone like that? However, it does seem somewhat creepy how Mr. Hector singled him out like Kevin was his personal pet project. A mystery to solve, of sorts, when he really should have minded his own business and been more discreet, if he felt something was off. Plus, it was not okay to use his position like that to come into Kevin's room, uninvited. Kevin was just lucky the guy fell for the clown decoy in the shower and ran out.
