Written in American

The most disconcerting thing for me watching his film is the weird way all the English people talk. Forget Rutger (a Dutch lad) and Cattrall who both have American accents...no probs..they're meant to be Americans...

...but it's set in London and all the other actors are British (many familiar faces). They don't use American accents, that's not it...they use American dialogue. The dialogue is straight out of an average American cop/action film and just doesn't work at all. It's so freaky to hear American dialogue coming out in English voices. The exchanges, the exposition, the terminology, the character names, the style of insults and even technical terms (we don't "put out an APB" in the UK) are all American.

I imagine it was done so the American straight-to-video market wouldn't need subtitles, or suffer brutal headaches trying to understand what was being said, but I promise you to a British ear it sounds very fecking ugly, weird, incongruous and embarrassing.

But anyway, I suppose that's the least of the film's problems.
