I read that this is a sister show to the wire. Is it anywhere near as good as it?

shareThis series is very good and yes, I think David Simon wrote this and TW but my favorite series ever, is The Wire.
shareHLOTS came before The Wire. HLOTS revolves around the Homicide unit in Balto. They are different shows, both gritty, both realistic. Wire was on cable so it had more freedom and enabled more cussing. HLOTS had amazing acting, it showed all levels of the unit, not just all the cases. It is fun to watch some of the cameos. It was am amazing show, like The Wire as well.
