In the film they refer to themselves as white so could a white person from British/german decent live there. I wouldn't really call the Italians white like the Spanish and Portuguese they have different skin colour than white english, polish, russian, german, etcetera
shareGenerally speaking, Yes. I grew up in an Italian neighborhood in NYC and we had a few other white groups living there, too. Outsiders were not welcomed because it was all about trust. Being from the neighborhood and knowing each other's families was everything. Honestly... blacks, Puerto Ricans, and yuppies were not treated good because most people felt they couldn't relate and trust them. Also..FYI..Italians call themselves "white". They take it as an insult if you say they are not !

Well Hitler hated Jews who are whiter than the Italians so I don't think Hitler really care much about skin tone, that was more a Mussolini concern than an Hitler concern.
shareItalians by and large are white people. There is a portion of the population, mostly from southern Italy and Sicily that have darker skin, but Italians are white Europeans.
