She climbs a mountain, but when her life is in the line, she cannot even reach up to save her life wtf?

Definitely seemed out of character for someone who would pick rock-climbing on mountains as a hobby.

She didn’t pick rock climbing. Hal took her up there even though the climb was far beyond her ability level.

It was the only good part of the movie and even it was flawed.

She was not a trained climber. Later on in the movie, when Gabe returns, Jessie says to him, "What was Hal doing on the tower with a girl that could barely climb?"
