How long is a Zerl?

How long is a zerl? because when the Coneheads move into the crappy projects or whatever, Beldar said that they have not been better off than they were two Zerls ago, when they arrived. And Marlax said a rescue vessel will come in 7 Zerls. so I was just wondering, because when they arrived on Earth it must have been the early to mid 1970s, and then Connie was born then, and suddenly it's present day (1993) and also, none of the culture matches the period so I was just wondering.

Well, it takes 7 zerls for the ship to arrive. By this time, Connie is, what, 16? I'd say maybe 2 1/4 years is a zerl. I dunno.

In the basement apartment Beldar mentioned they were no better of than they were 2 zerls ago when they lived in the trailet. That would mean Prymatt was pregnant with Connie for almost 5 years!
