So how is it that everyone in the future isn't dead?


Huxley explains that salt of all things is deemed bad for you and hence, illegal. How is it then that everyone isn't dead? The human body can't survive without a minimum amount of salt. And for that matter, if salt is outlawed, where are they getting their iodine? I didn't see people walking around with giant goitres either.

We'd have to assume that salt wasn't exorcized from food processing as well as not being available as table salt. We don't need to shake salt on food for health reasons as there is usually enough available in the foods we eat.

It wouldn't be out of the realm of possibilities that the SanAngeles government would mandate supplements that would be required for everyone to consume with iodine being among the ingredients.





It is bad to drink Jobus rum. Very bad.

Add it to the drinking water? It's not like anyone would have noticed...no one knows what salt tastes like in this scenario.
