What was the first mission?

At the beginning of the movie, when he's walking across the bridge.

Obviously it was to steal a priceless sword, but is that the sword he's carrying throughout this movie?

Curious if there's someone with more insight into what happened before this adventure started.

The first mission was that a priceless sword was stolen from a poor little village. The thieves were going to sell it to someone for 300 gold or something like that, Jubei gets it back for the village for 20 gold. The three who confront him on the bridge are leftovers from the thief gang.
