That The Sandlot is basically Goodfellas for kids? the soundtrack, camera moves, even the neighborhood they filmed in all give me the same vibe Goodfellas did. it's probably just the soundtrack though

...because it took place in the 1960s??? That's just about the only connection I can come up with.

I saw some "Goodfella's" in the movie but I saw more "Stand By Me" than anything else. The main character as an adult narrating the story of his childhood, the same time period give or take a year or two and the narrator at the end of the movie explaining what happened to each kid when they grew up with each kid fading away.
