Hawkeye and Elizabeth's Feelings Towards Each Other-Too Fast and Too Soon

I really enjoyed the series and wish there was more episodes between the two episode pilot and the ending episode. My reason is I found the growth of the feelings Hawkeye and Elizabeth had for each other was too fast and not really in line with the moral values the other episodes strived to put forth and this did not also match up with the beginning few episodes showing her strong love for William. In the first few episodes, Elizabeth clearly has a strong love for her husband and this type of love too quickly faded away in only one year. That just did not make sense. It is almost like this series with 22 episodes was planned to be exactly that. The ending, while well written and acted seemed to come too quickly.
