Criterion Collection Release Announced for August 10th, 2010!

CAN'T WAIT!

I just read it on the Criterion site. I'm excited too, but I'm also a little torn because I had hoped the two films, Louie Bluie and Crumb, would be bundled together in a box set instead of two seperate releases. Something like "The Documentaries Of Terry Zwigoff". I'd hate to say it but the Special Features on Crumb don't sound so great. I've bought Crumb twice now on DVD and I'd hoped that this release would be a two disc set. At least Louie Bluie is finally being released on DVD.

Yeah... it's odd how weak the special features are. I was expecting a lot more. LB should have been a special feature!

August is an abnormally weak month from criterion unfortunately.

Yeah Louie Bluie should have been a special feature since it's only 60 minutes long! A Two Disc set with both films would have been perfect.

Yeah I know. They also did a similar thing with Richard Linklater and included his first film "It's Impossible to Learn to Plow by Reading Books" on the Slacker DVD.

There are many other examples of the Criterion Collection including multiple films on the DVD in addition to the main film. I don't know why they didn't do it with Crumb and Louie Bluie. I hate to say it but this seems like a double dip move.
