Possible Criterion Release?

In the Criterion Collection Newsletter it says:

"And you can expect a lot more in 2010, when you’ll become better acquainted with a slew of mythic moviemakers (Charlie Chaplin, Nicholas Ray, Sidney Lumet) and modern-day masters in the making (Pedro Costa, Andrea Arnold,Terry Zwigoff)"

Happy viewing!

So does that mean Crumb will be getting a Criterion release? Or will it be one of his other films?

Well the little sketch on the bottom of the newsletter looks strikingly similar to Fritz the Cat - so I would only assume it'd be Crumb. The movie Fritz the Cat would be sweet too but I doubt they think it's worthy of the "Criterion treatment".

Then again, they released Jubilee, so why not Fritz.

Jubilee's alright. Armageddon and The Rock however are both just a kick in the balls.

Crumb will be released by Criterion on August 10, 2010 on both DVD and Blu-ray.
