Can watch it again and again

This is one of my favorite movies. One of those that whenever it comes on I'll watch it and enjoy it. It really comes down to personal taste on actors but I dig Alec Baldwin a lot and even though Basinger is kind of throwaway for me she's good in this movie and their chemistry as a couple is very good.

The only thing I questioned was how hard a time Doc gave his wife after he discovered she'd slept with Benyon. He should have been upset and disappointed that she'd had to but they had established a relationship for them where I couldn't see him questioning her loyalty. Her line of how she had humiliated herself to get him out of Jail was so well delivered that should have been the end of it.

I've seen the original a few times and even though it's pretty good I don't consider it fantastic. Bring Me The Head of Alfredo Garcia is far superior for me as far as Peckinpah goes. I prefer everything about this remake better. The dialog, the pacing, the action, the sex and the cast. Just a great, adult, action crime movie. Donaldson captured it perfectly.

Great movie, I watch it whenever I can.

It boiled down to trust between Doc and wife, they were near equals. She was a great shot, great driver, and had balls to kill. This meant she could live/survive without Doc if needed, and this caused anxiety and doubt with Doc. Doc was stuck in prison while KB was making deals for a year. It was also unclear exactly when KB decided to shoot Woods instead of Doc. I would have reacted the same way as Doc, so it worked for me.
