Tell me about your experiance at the theater!

This is my favorite movie of all time. Unfortunately I can't remember my experience at the theater since I was only 6 years old. So please, share your story!

How was it on the big screen? How did the audience react? Tell me everything :D

I was 8. Kids cried when Mufasa died and loved Rafiki and Timon and Pumba.

I was also six years old when this movie came out, but I loved it so much that I ended up seeing it in theaters at least fifteen times.

I forgot to write that I didn't even see it in the theaters since I was only six years old. That's something I'm so very sorry for for :'(

I was only 3 when it came out (am 24 now) but I have a little brother who is 12. It came out to theaters in 3D a few years back and I jumped on the opportunity. While I don't like 3D on most occasions I think with kids movies they are just fine. I wouldn't say the 3D added anything really to this masterpiece but it didn't take anything away either. I've always loved 'The Lion King' and it was just awesome on the big screen, like a whole new experience. Both of us laughed so hard when Rafiki jumped into the crowd of hyenas at the end even though we had both seen the movie many times.

I have it on blu-ray (the 3D version I think?). I then also have a 3D tv of course. My boyfriend bought it for me on my birthday when it had its re-release.

But I haven't even opened the plastic yet! Because ironically I don't own a blu-ray player OR a dvd player, since you watch everything digitally these days! Haha!

At least it's in perfect, perfect condition for the premiere watch ;)

I don't think I saw The Lion King in its original 1994 release. I would have been 3 years old. The earliest memory I have at the cinema is Toy Story. The 3D re-release though, best movie experience of all-time!

I was 7 years old back then it was one of my favorite movie experiences there were cardboard cutouts of the characters at the theater, I remember the patrons gasping when Scar throws Mufasa to his death and some kids and the audience asking if he was okay, I recall for days afterwards my brother and I would sing "Hakuna Matata"

Well I was 9. And I remember my younger cousin who was 6, dropped the popcorn on the floor, and there I was picking popcorn off the floor every few minutes so it didn't get wasted.

I was 10 when The Lion King came out in Summer 1994 and it remains one of my favorite movie going experiences ever.

I remember the audience loving the big musical numbers (like Circle of Life and Hakuna Matata), there being dead silence during Mufasa's death (still gets me) and the audience laughing at Timon and Pumbaa. It was a great experience and helped by it being a great film. Seriously, they really assembled a fantastic cast for this.

The very first cassette I ever bought was the soundtrack to this film. I even bought the SNES game. It was quite a sensation for both kids and adults.

I remember it was my second attempt at going to see it as it was fully booked the first time I tried. I remember it being very busy and with great music. 1994 best year for films.

I was 8 when it came out. Unfortunately I don't remember actually watching it in the theater, just my reaction afterward. I came out of the theater in an ecstatic glow, thrilled that I was part of the circle of life. It was the first spiritual experience of my life, and still one of the most profound.

I didn't exist at the time of its release. I did see it on the big screen in 3D when I was 16 and it went by pretty fast from watching a lot at home.
