CGI all over the place?

The exact same way as The Jungle Book. Motion capture and green screen.

I'm looking forward to the live action remake. I'm excited for the Beauty and the Beast remake at the moment.

It won't. You'd have to have human characters and make it a reverse Hamlet.

They could do that, or they could make it like the Broadway musical, where they have adult actors that plays the characters in costume, where they have masks on their heads of the character that they are playing. And I know the other animals besides the lions are puppets done by actors expect for the person that plays Pumbaa.
